Q What is the average cost of website?
Since each website is custom tailored to each individual client and each client has his/her own specific needs. Each website has its own cost based off an estimate from talking with you about what it is you are looking for in a website. This is better explained on the Why OBX Web Designer page.
Q Did you go to school for this?
I am a graduate of The College of Design at NC State University. NC State was ranked 7th in the nation for the School of Design by U.S. News & World Report, 2008. Design is more about form function and why we feel the way we do about visuals -- Developers focus on programming these functions to make these visuals work as intended by the designer. You can read more about my background on the About Me Page.
Q Isn't a Website Designer & Web Developer two different professions?
That's RIGHT, and I do BOTH! In most cases you will find that these two professions are separate meaning the two individuals have to work very close with one another to build a website for a client. When you work with the OBX Web Designer both of these professions are one in the same individual... ME! :-)
Q What kind of computer(s) do you use?
I work with two Macintosh computers. | 2.93GHz Intel Core 2 Duo |&&| Dual 1GHz PowerPC G4 |
Q I don't own a Mac. Will my website look the same on my PC?
Of COURSE!! What kind of website developer would I be if your website didn't look consistent on every computer? Every website I build is built to spec and comply with website standards. So it doesn't matter what kind of operating system you have (Windows Unix Linux) or what kind of browser (Internet Explorer - FireFox - Safari) your website will look the same and consistent on any machine. Websites should conform to the computer not the other way around.
Q I already have a website can you build/modify a website for me?
Sure I can. I do require that my company host the site and that the client sign a two-year Hosting Service Provider Agreement. Running a website on my server is key to giving my customers the quality and performance that is necessary to survive in the World Wide Web.
Q What is the Hosting Service Provider Charge?
The Hosting Service Provider Charge is a service fee just like any cell phone bill or electricity bill that insures your website is always up and running visible to the world any time day or night. It is custom tailored to insure that your website will be visible at all times and downloads with optimum performance.
Q Can you modify/build my website on my Hosting Service Provider?
No. The biggest reason is lack of control I have with any other Hosting Servers other than my own.
